Introduction to Therapy
Throughout our lives, all of our experiences become embedded and encoded into us at a deep level. These neural pathways are formed over time, and we carry them with us as we change and grow.
Sometimes we realize these patterns aren’t helpful to us. Maybe they never served us; maybe they once did and no longer do in the same way as before.
When we reach this pivotal moment, the question is: How do we change these patterns?
First we must become aware of them. From here, we use the safe container of the therapeutic relationship to experience something brand new.
Therapy is not something we do, it is something we ARE when we share this space together. How we interact with each other is the healing balm that creates real shifts in our learned behaviors.
Everything we explore together in therapy creates a solid foundation to support your continued practice at home as we do this deep integration work.
At times the therapeutic process can feel uncomfortable because your brain is doing something that it’s never done before. This is the process of reprogramming the brain to change what is no longer working so you can thrive.
You don’t have to walk this path alone. Together we can shift what’s no longer serving you and create something brand new.
